Whether you are a fan of Yanni, Jim Brickman or George Winston, you will surely appreciate this inspired instrumental piano music by Tom Barabas. Mosaic displays the jazzy side of Barabas as he creates an eclectic, high-energy fusion of classical, jazz and Latin traditions featuring collaborations with several good friends on saxophone, electric guitar, and flugelhorn. Through it all, on piano and keyboards, Barabas delivers his trademark musical dance of the heart. “I have drawn on many musical traditions to create Mosaic. My personal style is grounded in the down-to-earth structures of classical music, which I believe have harmonizing effects on the human nervous system. From the integrity of this foundation, I am then free to bring in exciting rhythms – jazz, fusion, or Latin. Each of these songs has personal meaning and is, in a sense, a snapshot of my soul at the moment it was being created. About Tom Barabas:
Before developing a taste for rock and jazz, Barabas studied classical music at the Caracas Conservatory in Venezuela. His skills as a pianist are admirable; Barabas’s use of synthesizers is not quite so sophisticated but shows some promise. His recordings include 1988’s Magic in December, 1992’s Sedona Suite, 1995’s Mosaic and 1999’s Live.
